January, Anxiety, and Finding My Balance.

January feels slow and heavy for me. The cold, gray days seem to settle into my body, and my anxiety and vestibular hypofunction feel more noticeable. When I’m inside more and not moving as much, the dizziness and that “off” feeling show up more often. It’s not new. It’s just part of what I live with, but some days it feels harder than others.
There are mornings when I wake up already feeling unsteady and foggy, and my anxiety follows right behind. On those days, I try not to fight it. I remind myself that my body just needs a little extra care and reassurance.
Lately, I’ve been leaning into comfort. Cozy blankets, soft lighting, hot cocoa or tea in my hands. Those small things help my nervous system settle. Meditation is something I return to again and again. Not to fix my body, but to feel calmer and more connected to it. Even a few quiet minutes can make a difference.
I also find comfort in my spiritual practices. Keeping crystals nearby, breathing slowly, setting gentle intentions for the day. All of it helps me feel grounded and supported. It doesn’t have to be perfect. It just has to feel peaceful.
January reminds me to slow down, listen more closely, and be kinder to myself. Living with something chronic isn’t easy, but there is still room for softness, warmth, and moments of calm.
January affirmation:
I am safe in my body. I honor where I am today, and I allow myself to move through this season with patience, comfort, and compassion.
